The predecessor of the current joint-stock company "Kazakhstan GIS Center" was the Republican State Enterprise "Center for Geoinformation Support of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (RSE "CGS AF RK"), which was part of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This enterprise was created on the basis of the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 28, 2000 No. 1916 and the order of the Minister of Defense No. 4 dated January 5, 2001. The main task of the RSE "CGS AF RK" was to provide the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan with topographic, geodetic and cartographic products, as well as geoinformation services based on digital cartography.
